Your profile:
Education:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field, with a focus on medical devices or dental technology.
Experience:
5+ years of experience in the design and development of medical devices, with a significant focus on dental products.
Demonstrated success in bringing dental or medical devices from concept to market.
Extensive experience working within regulated environments, with a thorough understanding of global regulatory requirements (e.g., FDA, ISO).
Technical Expertise:
Advanced proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) for design and analysis.
Strong knowledge of materials science, especially regarding biocompatible materials used in dental applications.
Hands-on experience with prototyping techniques, testing protocols, and validation processes.
Soft Skills:
Exceptional problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to overcoming technical challenges.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.
High attention to detail and a commitment to quality and precision in all aspects of work.
Job responsibilities:
Product Design & Innovation:
Lead the design and engineering of innovative dental devices, including but not limited to implants, orthodontic tools, and imaging systems.
Utilize advanced CAD software to develop detailed 3D models and simulations, ensuring designs are both functional and manufacturable.
Material Science & Selection:
Identify and evaluate biocompatible materials that meet the specific requirements of dental applications, focusing on durability, safety, and patient comfort.
Collaborate with material scientists to integrate the latest advancements in material technology into product designs.
Prototyping & Testing:
Develop and refine prototypes using both traditional and advanced manufacturing techniques, such as 3D printing.
Conduct comprehensive testing to validate product performance, safety, and compliance with industry standards.
Regulatory Compliance & Documentation:
Ensure all products adhere to regulatory requirements, including FDA, ISO, and CE standards.
Prepare and maintain detailed technical documentation to support regulatory submissions and product certifications.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Work closely with dental professionals, including dentists, orthodontists, and hygienists, to gather user feedback and optimize product designs.
Collaborate with manufacturing, quality assurance, and marketing teams to ensure seamless product development and market introduction.
Manufacturing Support & Process Optimization:
Provide engineering support during the transition from design to manufacturing, ensuring processes are efficient, scalable, and cost-effective.
Implement quality control measures to maintain high standards throughout the production lifecycle.
Continuous Improvement & R&D:
Stay informed of emerging trends and technologies in dental care, continuously seeking opportunities to enhance product offerings.
Lead or participate in research and development projects aimed at expanding the company’s portfolio of dental devices.
Technical Training & Support:
Provide technical training to dental professionals and internal teams, ensuring proper use and maintenance of new devices.
Offer ongoing support for product troubleshooting and post-market surveillance.
