DevOps Engineer (m/f/d)

We are currently seeking a highly motivated and qualified DevOps Engineer (m/f/d) to join our client’s IT team in Zug. This is a unique opportunity to play a key role in shaping and improving modern software development practices within a highly innovative and safety-critical environment.
Our client operates in the fire safety and building technology industry, developing advanced systems that protect people, buildings, and infrastructure. You will be part of the FS40/20 ART team, contributing to the development of the FS40 fire alarm control system, a core solution in this domain.
In this role, you will focus on enhancing software engineering processes and optimizing CI/CD delivery pipelines supporting mission-critical systems. Your contribution will help drive sustainable improvements in DevOps capabilities and software development practices over the coming years.
Your Responsibilities
- Migrate large-scale Java projects from Ant to Gradle
- Review and optimize Git repository structures in collaboration with development teams
- Enhance and streamline CI/CD workflows, acting as a bridge between application and platform teams
- Increase automation within CI/CD pipelines (e.g., SBOM generation, rule enforcement, code quality checks, reporting)
Your Profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience
- Strong expertise in GitLab, CI/CD automation, and DevOps practices
- Proven experience with Java and C++ development environments
- Solid knowledge of Gradle and experience with Ant-to-Gradle migration
- Experience with static code analysis and automated testing frameworks
- Excellent understanding of Git workflows and best practices
- Strong skills in SQL, Python, or other programming languages are a plus
- Familiarity with SBOM formats is advantageous
- A collaborative mindset and ability to work across teams, locations, and partners
- A proactive, solution-oriented approach
- Experience working in structured, international environment
- Languages: Fluent German and English are required.
