The role
This is a great opportunity for someone with early practice experience to step into a varied role within a supportive firm. With a strong focus on accounts, you'll gain exposure to a wide range of clients while also developing your skills across audit and tax.
You'll work both on-site and in the office as part of a team, contributing to audits and supporting the wider accounts function - ideal for someone looking to continue their professional development and progress their career.
Key responsibilities
- Supporting audit assignments across a variety of sectors, both on-site and in the office
- Preparing statutory accounts for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies
- Assisting with business tax computations and supporting schedules
- Working as part of a team to manage a portfolio of clients and meet key deadlines
- Supporting with ad-hoc client queries throughout the year
- Assisting with management accounts, bookkeeping, and VAT returns where required
- Advising clients on suitable accounting software solutions
- Contributing to the smooth running of the office and maintaining high service standards
About you
- At least 2 years' experience within an accountancy practice (audit or mixed role)
- AAT qualified or finalist, or currently studying ACA / ACCA
- It would be desirable if you have a good understanding of audit, but not essential, and accounts preparation
- Strong time management skills and ability to meet deadlines
- Confident using accounting software and Microsoft Office
- Full UK driving licence and access to a car for client visits
- Commercial awareness and a proactive approach to work
