Construction Lawyer (Non-Contentious) - 7+ PQE - London

A fantastic law firm in London is seeking an experienced Construction Lawyer to join its highly regarded non contentious construction team.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a specialist practice advising a broad client base across the construction and engineering sector on high-value, complex projects from procurement through to completion.

The Role

You will advise clients across the construction supply chain on a wide range of non-contentious matters, with a strong emphasis on procurement, contract negotiation and project delivery. The role offers exposure to significant domestic and international projects across a variety of sectors.

Key responsibilities include:

• Advising on construction procurement strategies and routes to market.
• Drafting, reviewing and negotiating construction and engineering contracts.
• Advising on standard form contracts, particularly JCT and NEC.
• Negotiating commercially balanced amendments to standard form contracts.
• Advising on professional appointments, sub-contracts, collateral warranties, performance bonds, parent company guarantees, novations, assignments and third-party rights.

About You

The successful candidate will have:

• 7+ years' PQE in non-contentious construction law.
• Strong experience advising on JCT and NEC contracts.
• Excellent drafting, negotiation and technical legal skills.
• A sound understanding of construction procurement and project delivery.
• A commercial and pragmatic approach to advising clients.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
