The Opportunity
You will advise employer clients on a broad range of employment law matters, working closely with partners and fellow employment specialists while also managing your own caseload and client relationships.
The role offers a mix of contentious and non-contentious work, allowing you to develop a well-rounded and sophisticated employment practice.
Key areas of work include:
- Day-to-day employment advisory matters, including disciplinary and grievance procedures, contracts, policies, discrimination, family rights and flexible working.
- Employment Tribunal litigation, including unfair dismissal, discrimination, whistleblowing and equal pay claims.
- High Court disputes involving restrictive covenants, confidential information and team moves.
- Business restructures, reorganisations and redundancy programmes.
- TUPE and employment support on corporate transactions, outsourcing projects and business transfers.
- Trade union and collective employment matters.
- Employment status and atypical working arrangements.
- Executive and senior employee issues.
- International employment law projects and cross-border matters.
- Workforce mobility, reward and incentives, and strategic HR projects.

What We're Looking For
Applicants should have between 5 and 8 years' post-qualification experience and a strong background in employment law gained within a recognised practice.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate:
- Strong technical employment law knowledge across both advisory and contentious matters.
- Experience advising employer clients.
- Excellent drafting, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Outstanding communication and relationship-building abilities.
- The confidence to manage matters independently and take ownership of client relationships.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Commercial awareness and a pragmatic approach to legal advice.
- A proactive and responsive working style.
- Experience supervising or mentoring junior lawyers (desirable).
- An interest in business development and contributing to client growth initiatives.
