💰 Up to £73,000 + potential sign-on bonus
🕒 Full-time (37 hours per week)

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Opportunity & Efficiencies Lead to join a major capital delivery function responsible for large-scale infrastructure programmes across the UK.

This is a newly created role offering the chance to shape how operational efficiencies are delivered across a multi-billion-pound project portfolio, including complex engineering and construction works such as asset upgrades, network expansion, and new infrastructure delivery.

You will work closely with senior stakeholders across the business to identify, challenge, and implement improvements that deliver tangible cost savings and performance enhancements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with senior leaders (Directors, Programme Managers, and Heads of Function) to review project portfolios and identify efficiency opportunities
  • Analyse construction and operational programmes to challenge timelines, delivery models, and cost assumptions
  • Drive practical, implementable improvements - not just strategy, but real delivery of savings
  • Conduct site visits to assess project performance, build progress, and operational processes
  • Review and improve time recording, productivity tracking, and operational workflows
  • Embed best practice across large-scale infrastructure and construction projects
  • Support assurance activities during critical delivery phases (including occasional out-of-hours work)

What We're Looking For

Essential Experience

  • Strong background in construction, infrastructure, or utilities
  • Experience working on large-scale capital projects or programmes
  • Proven ability to identify and implement operational efficiencies
  • Hands-on experience of site-based project reviews and delivery oversight
  • Exposure to UK construction environments (international experience is also welcome)
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence at senior level

Desirable

  • Experience across both construction and utilities sectors
  • Familiarity with project controls, performance tracking, or cost optimisation
  • Understanding of time recording or workforce productivity systems

Qualifications

  • Project Management qualification (e.g. PRINCE2, APM, PMP) or equivalent experience

About You

  • A self-starter who can quickly build relationships and credibility
  • Comfortable operating in a complex, large-scale delivery environment
  • Focused on delivery and outcomes, not just identifying opportunities
  • Highly analytical, with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

What Success Looks Like

  • Delivering measurable cost savings and efficiency improvements within the first 6 months
  • Establishing credibility across senior stakeholders
  • Driving change that has real impact on project performance and delivery

Additional Information

  • Hybrid working model (flexibility available, but some onsite presence required)
  • Occasional travel to project and operational sites
  • Opportunity to shape a new function and influence ways of working
