About the Opportunity
A leading international law firm is seeking an experienced Real Estate Disputes Knowledge Lawyer to join its highly regarded Real Estate Disputes practice.
This is an exciting opportunity for a lawyer with strong contentious property expertise who is passionate about knowledge management, legal innovation and supporting the development of a high-performing legal team. The successful candidate will play a key role in developing and maintaining the team's knowledge resources, ensuring lawyers and clients remain informed of legal developments, market trends and best practice.
Working closely with partners and fee earners, you will help drive excellence, consistency and efficiency across a broad range of complex and high-value real estate disputes.
The Role
As a Knowledge Lawyer, you will be a trusted technical resource and strategic adviser to the firm's Real Estate Disputes team.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing technical support and guidance on complex real estate disputes and civil procedure matters.
- Monitoring legal and regulatory developments and translating them into practical guidance for lawyers and clients.
- Developing and maintaining precedents, standard documents, guidance notes and playbooks.
- Creating and delivering legal training programmes to colleagues and clients.
- Supporting the development of litigation strategies and best-practice approaches for key dispute areas.
- Driving innovation through the use of legal technology, AI tools and knowledge management systems.
- Producing thought leadership content and collaborating with marketing and business development teams on client-facing materials.
- Working alongside a wider network of knowledge professionals to contribute to firm-wide knowledge management initiatives and strategy.
Candidate Profile
Applications are welcomed from qualified solicitors with at least 5 years' PQE in contentious real estate matters, as well as experienced Professional Support Lawyers (PSLs) or Knowledge Lawyers with relevant sector expertise.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate:
- Significant experience in real estate disputes and contentious property law.
- Strong knowledge of civil procedure and dispute resolution processes.
- Expertise across a range of contentious property matters, including:
- Lease renewals.
- Dilapidations.
- Break notices.
- Forfeiture and possession claims.
- Service charge disputes.
- Rent review disputes.
- Development-related disputes.
- Property title, boundary and rights disputes.
- Property-related professional negligence claims.
- Residential property disputes and relevant building safety legislation.
- Exceptional legal research, drafting and analytical skills.
- The ability to interpret complex legislation and case law and communicate it clearly and practically.
- Excellent presentation and training skills.
- A proactive, organised and collaborative approach.
- Strong relationship-building skills and the ability to work effectively with lawyers, business services professionals and clients.
