We're partnering with a leading provider in the children's services sector to recruit a Regional Training Manager. This is a fantastic opportunity to combine strategic leadership with hands-on training delivery, driving learning excellence across a diverse regional portfolio.
The Opportunity
As Regional Training Manager, you'll lead a team of Learning & Development professionals, ensuring the delivery of engaging, compliant, and high-quality learning programmes. Acting as the senior L&D representative across your region, you'll build strong stakeholder relationships, champion continuous improvement, and support organisational learning initiatives.
This role offers a blend of leadership and delivery responsibilities, with approximately 70% focused on management, quality assurance, and regional oversight and 30% dedicated to training delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Development
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of regional L&D professionals.
- Conduct regular performance reviews, supervision sessions, and development planning.
- Support onboarding and ongoing professional development within the team.
- Manage regional resource planning and training allocation.
Quality Assurance & Continuous Improvement
- Monitor and enhance training quality through observations, coaching, and feedback.
- Analyse learner feedback and training data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
- Ensure learning delivery aligns with relevant regulatory and industry standards.
- Drive innovation in learning methodologies and training practices.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Partner with operational leaders and regional management teams to identify learning needs.
- Collaborate with wider business functions to develop bespoke learning solutions.
- Act as the regional point of contact for training-related matters.
Training Delivery
- Deliver core and specialist learning programmes.
- Support operational requirements by providing training cover where needed.
- Model engaging, inclusive, and learner-centred facilitation techniques.
Reporting & Compliance
- Produce regional learning reports and performance insights.
- Support audit readiness and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure training activities align with company policies and compliance frameworks.
About You
We're looking for someone who can demonstrate:
✅ Significant experience in Learning & Development within Children's Residential Services
✅ Experience leading and developing geographically dispersed teams
✅ Strong understanding of training quality assurance, evaluation, and continuous improvement
✅ Knowledge of regulated environments such as children's services
✅ Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
✅ Data-driven decision-making and reporting capabilities
✅ Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel regularly
Desirable Experience
- Children's residential care experience
- Teaching, training, or coaching qualifications
- Assessor or quality assurance qualifications
- Learning Management System (LMS) experience
- Experience supporting accreditation, inspection, or regulatory frameworks
