About the Opportunity
Are you an accounting professional who thrives in a collaborative, onsite environment? We are seeking an experienced Accountant to join our dynamic team in Albuquerque. Key Responsibilities
Financial & Regulatory Reporting
Prepare accurate and timely monthly financial statements, management reports, and tax filings.
Support audit and regulatory exam processes by gathering and preparing required documentation.
Assist with board and executive reporting as needed.
General Ledger & Account Reconciliation
Maintain and reconcile complex general ledger and subsidiary accounts, including cash, loans, and income accruals.
Lead the month-end close process and ensure all entries are accurate and compliant with established policies.
Investigate and resolve complex accounting issues, collaborating with management and other departments to identify root causes and recommend process improvements.
Process Improvement & Technology
Identify opportunities to streamline and automate accounting processes.
Utilize advanced Excel features (such as pivot tables, power query, and macros) to analyze large data sets efficiently.
Stay current with accounting software and leverage technology for enhanced reporting and reconciliation.
Team Collaboration & Support
Foster a positive, team-oriented environment by supporting colleagues and contributing to shared goals.
Participate in cross-functional projects and provide backup to other accounting staff as needed.
Field inquiries from management regarding financial statements and large transactions.
What We’re Looking For
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
Minimum of 3 years of relevant accounting experience; experience in a corporate environment preferred.
Solid understanding of GAAP, financial statement preparation, and regulatory compliance.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with automation tools and a technical inclination are strong pluses.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain financial concepts clearly and confidently.
A proactive, curious mindset and a passion for continuous improvement.
Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and adapt to evolving responsibilities.
Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and upholding the highest ethical standards.
Willingness and ability to work onsite in Albuquerque, NM.
