Accountant - Construction/Job Costing

We are seeking an experienced Accountant with construction accounting and job costing experience to support day‑to‑day accounting operations and project financials. This role plays a key part in tracking job costs, supporting accurate reporting, and partnering with project managers to ensure projects stay on budget.
Key Responsibilities
Perform job costing for active construction projects, including labor, materials, subcontractor costs, and overhead
Review and code invoices to the correct jobs and cost codes
Maintain accurate job cost reports and support project profitability analysis
Assist with month‑end close, including journal entries, reconciliations, and accruals
Reconcile job cost detail to the general ledger
Support WIP schedules, percentage‑of‑completion reporting
Work closely with project managers to review cost variances and resolve discrepancies
Assist with financial reporting, audits, and ad‑hoc analysis as needed
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
2+ years of accounting experience within a construction environment
Hands‑on experience with job costing and cost codes
Strong understanding of construction accounting concepts
Proficient in Excel (job cost reports, reconciliations, analysis)
Experience with WIP or percentage‑of‑completion accounting, preferred
Exposure to subcontractor billing, lien waivers, or AIA billing, highly preferred
Prior experience supporting project managers or operations teams
Pay Details: $65,000.00 to $75,000.00 per year
