Accounting / Treasury Manager (Hybrid – NYC)
Overview
Large, mission-driven nonprofit organization is seeking an Accounting/Treasury Manager to lead cash management, investment accounting, and treasury operations. This is a newly created role within a complex, multi-entity environment supporting a significant operating budget and workforce.
Key Responsibilities
Manage cash flow planning, forecasting, and daily cash positioning across multiple accounts
Oversee investment accounting (realized/unrealized gains, interest income, portfolio activity, and reconciliations)
Lead treasury operations, including banking relationships, ACH/wires, and liquidity management
Supervise and mentor 2 staff accountants
Maintain strong internal controls across petty cash, funding accounts, and resident allowance programs
Prepare audit schedules and support external audit requirements
Partner with finance, operations, and program teams to resolve discrepancies and improve processes
What They’re Looking For
Strong Excel skills with ability to analyze and consolidate complex data
Experience with investment accounting and portfolio activity
Expertise in cash forecasting, revenue forecasting, and cash flow analysis
Background in fund accounting / nonprofit environment preferred
Strong communication skills working with non-finance stakeholders
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance; CPA a plus
Comp & Highlights
Salary: up to $90K
Hybrid schedule (3 days onsite, flexible)
Reports to Controller; manages 2 staff

Pay Details: $85,000.00 to $90,000.00 per year
