LHH is partnering with a dynamic and expanding organization in Oak Brook, IL to identify a detail-oriented Accounting Specialist for a newly created fully onsite role. This direct hire opportunity is ideal for candidates with at least four years of progressive accounting experience, a bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field, and hands-on experience with a major ERP system.
We’re looking for a professional with a strong foundation in general accounting practices, including month-end and year-end close, financial reporting, fixed asset management, financial statement preparation, and account reconciliations.

Key Responsibilities:
- Process vendor invoices and employee expense reports with accuracy and timeliness
- Maintain and update accounting ledgers and journals to ensure accurate financial records
- Reconcile credit card statements and assist with month-end close activities
- Prepare internal financial and statistical reports to support business decisions
- Manage accruals and prepaid expenses, ensuring proper allocation and documentation
- Generate monthly expense allocation billings and ensure timely distribution
- Review financial documents for completeness, accuracy, and compliance
- Support general ledger maintenance and prepare journal entries as needed
- Assist with year-end audit preparation, including gathering and organizing documentation
- Track and reconcile fixed assets and maintain depreciation schedules
- Analyze financial data to support reporting, forecasting, and budgeting processes
- Monitor accounts receivable aging and follow up on outstanding balances
- Ensure adherence to internal controls and established accounting policies
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related discipline is required
- Minimum of 4 years of progressive accounting experience
- Proficiency in general accounting functions including month-end/year-end close, financial reporting, fixed assets, financial statements, and account reconciliations
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel
- Experience working with a major ERP system
- Strong analytical mindset and attention to detail
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
