LHH Recruitment Solutions is recruiting for a highly organized and dependable Accounting Specialist / Office Administrator to support both financial functions and general office operations.
This role is in Office. 9am-5pm. Direct Hire Career Opportunity in the Syosset, NY area.
The position supports a range of accounting and bookkeeping functions, including accounts payable, reconciliations, and financial record maintenance. The Accounting Specialist / Office Administrator will also assist with day‑to‑day administrative and operational tasks, helping to ensure the office runs efficiently and smoothly.
This role is ideal for someone who is detail‑oriented, proactive, and comfortable wearing multiple hats. The successful candidate will be able to balance accounting responsibilities with administrative support while maintaining professionalism, accuracy, and clear communication in a fast‑paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting & Finance
Oversee accounts receivable activities, including invoicing, payment posting, and customer account reconciliation
Proactively manage collections and follow up on past‑due accounts in a professional manner
Process accounts payable, including invoice entry, approvals, and payment coordination
Assist with bank and general ledger reconciliations under the direction of the Finance Manager
Support month‑end and year‑end close activities
Maintain accurate and well‑organized financial records
Assist with cash flow monitoring and basic financial reporting
Office Administration
Support daily office operations to ensure organization and efficiency
Serve as a primary contact for vendors, customers, and internal staff
Manage office supplies, ordering, and general administrative needs
Assist with scheduling, correspondence, and administrative requests
Provide operational support to internal teams as needed
Help maintain structured office systems and workflows
Qualifications & Skills
Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or a related role
Strong experience with accounts receivable and customer collections required
Familiarity with accounting software such as NetSuite or similar systems (preferred)
Working knowledge of core accounting principles
Strong communication and customer service skills
Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities
Ability to multitask and manage competing priorities effectively
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
