Accounts Payable Team Lead

Overview
Leads the Accounts Payable function and supports general accounting, financial reporting, and compliance. Ensures accurate financial data, strong internal controls, and timely month‑end close. Supervises a small team, provides training, and drives process improvement.

Key Responsibilities:


Accounts Payable

  • Oversee daily AP operations and team workflow.

  • Review invoices, entries, payments, and vendor inquiries.

  • Resolve discrepancies and ensure proper sales/use tax treatment.

  • Maintain vendor relationships and enforce internal controls.

General Accounting

  • Prepare journal entries, reconciliations, and maintain subsidiary ledgers.

  • Support financial statements, forecasts, and analytical reporting.

  • Lead month‑end and year‑end close and assist with audits.

  • Support policy updates, system accuracy, and ad hoc reporting.

Tax & Compliance

  • Monitor sales/use tax and assist with filings and documentation.

  • Support annual tax packages, 1099/1042 filings, and other compliance needs.

Audit & Controls

  • Lead audit preparation and provide internal/external audit support.

  • Review team work for accuracy and compliance.

Other Duties

  • Support process improvements and cost‑saving initiatives.

  • Maintain confidentiality and uphold policies and standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (or equivalent experience).

  • 5+ years of AP or related accounting experience; supervisory experience preferred.

  • Strong organizational skills, accuracy, and deadline management.

  • Proficient in Excel; ERP experience a plus.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Salary: $75,000 - $85,000
