Senior Accounts Payable Analyst (SAP S/4HANA)

A Houston-based organization is hiring a Senior AP Analyst / AP Accountant to support high-volume, ERP-driven accounts payable operations. This role is hands-on, process-focused, and ideal for someone who understands end-to-end AP—not just invoice entry. SAP S/4HANA experience is required.
The position starts on-site during training, then moves to a hybrid schedule once fully ramped.
What You’ll Do
Investigate and resolve invoice issues tied to price, quantity, and PO discrepancies
Ensure accuracy and completeness of invoice descriptions and supporting data
Prepare monthly accruals, including Freight and Travel & Expense
Perform vendor statement and AP account reconciliations
Handle monthly AP close activities, including reconciliations and reporting
Track and report AP metrics on a monthly and quarterly basis
Prepare and post journal entries related to AP activity
Review account coding for accuracy (GL distribution, vendor setup, PO alignment)
Research, clean up, and resolve aged GR/IR and received-not-vouchered items
Process and audit employee travel and expense reimbursements
Support ERP initiatives, including new system implementations or enhancements
Provide day-to-day guidance and leadership to AP staff as needed
Maintain and analyze GR/IR reports
Help develop and respond to internal controls and audit findings related to AP
Partner closely with Procurement and Supply Chain to resolve invoice and receiving issues
Required Experience
Senior-level Accounts Payable or AP Accounting background
Hands-on SAP S/4HANA experience (required)
Strong understanding of PO-based invoicing, 3-way matching, and GR/IR
Experience with accruals, reconciliations, and month-end close
Ability to navigate and resolve complex invoice and vendor issues
Comfortable working cross-functionally with Procurement, Supply Chain, and Finance
Detail-oriented with strong follow-through and ownership mindset
