A Houston-based organization is hiring a Senior AP Analyst / AP Accountant to support high-volume, ERP-driven accounts payable operations. This role is hands-on, process-focused, and ideal for someone who understands end-to-end AP—not just invoice entry. SAP S/4HANA experience is required.

The position starts on-site during training, then moves to a hybrid schedule once fully ramped.

What You’ll Do

  • Investigate and resolve invoice issues tied to price, quantity, and PO discrepancies

  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of invoice descriptions and supporting data

  • Prepare monthly accruals, including Freight and Travel & Expense

  • Perform vendor statement and AP account reconciliations

  • Handle monthly AP close activities, including reconciliations and reporting

  • Track and report AP metrics on a monthly and quarterly basis

  • Prepare and post journal entries related to AP activity

  • Review account coding for accuracy (GL distribution, vendor setup, PO alignment)

  • Research, clean up, and resolve aged GR/IR and received-not-vouchered items

  • Process and audit employee travel and expense reimbursements

  • Support ERP initiatives, including new system implementations or enhancements

  • Provide day-to-day guidance and leadership to AP staff as needed

  • Maintain and analyze GR/IR reports

  • Help develop and respond to internal controls and audit findings related to AP

  • Partner closely with Procurement and Supply Chain to resolve invoice and receiving issues

Required Experience

  • Senior-level Accounts Payable or AP Accounting background

  • Hands-on SAP S/4HANA experience (required)

  • Strong understanding of PO-based invoicing, 3-way matching, and GR/IR

  • Experience with accruals, reconciliations, and month-end close

  • Ability to navigate and resolve complex invoice and vendor issues

  • Comfortable working cross-functionally with Procurement, Supply Chain, and Finance

  • Detail-oriented with strong follow-through and ownership mindset

Why This Role

  • Competitive hourly pay: $30–$36/hr

  • High-visibility role with long-term potential

  • Exposure to ERP initiatives and process improvement

  • Hybrid work environment after training

  • Fast interview process with immediate start
