Accounts Payable Lead

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accounts Payable Lead to oversee and manage the full-cycle accounts payable function. This role will be responsible for leading daily AP operations, mentoring team members, and driving process improvements to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and oversee daily accounts payable operations, including invoice processing, coding, and payment execution
Review and approve invoices, ensuring accuracy, proper documentation, and compliance with company policies
Manage vendor relationships and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
Supervise and mentor AP staff; provide training and guidance on processes and systems
Perform and review account reconciliations, including vendor statements and month-end accruals
Oversee payment runs (checks, ACH, wire transfers) and ensure adherence to payment schedules
Monitor AP aging and ensure timely and accurate payments
Support month-end close, audit requests, and financial reporting activities
Identify process improvement opportunities and implement workflow enhancements
Maintain strong internal controls and ensure compliance with company policies and regulations
Qualifications
5+ years of accounts payable experience, including full-cycle AP
Previous leadership or supervisory experience preferred
Strong understanding of GAAP and accounting principles
Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Great Plains, or similar)
Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs preferred)
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and leadership abilities
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience)
Experience in high-volume or multi-entity environments
Background in manufacturing or a similar industry
Pay Details: $27.00 to $34.00 per hour
