Accounts Payable Specialist - Contract to hire.
Location: Cleveland, OH
Schedule: Monday–Friday, standard business hours with flexible start and end times
We are seeking a detail‑oriented and dependable Accounts Payable Specialist to join a collaborative finance team. This role plays a key part in ensuring the accurate and timely processing of invoices and vendor payments for an organization that supports a large, seasonal workforce.
You’ll work alongside a small, supportive accounting team that is cross‑trained and collaborative, while independently managing a weekly invoice volume of approximately 50–150 invoices.
Key Responsibilities
Process 50–150 accounts payable invoices per week with accuracy and timeliness
Use ERP and accounting systems, along with Excel, for AP processing, tracking, and reporting
Collaborate with finance team members to manage workflow during higher‑volume periods
Communicate proactively with supervisors regarding workload, discrepancies, or delays
Partner with vendors and internal teams to resolve invoice or payment questions
Assist with special projects related to allocations, reporting, or seasonal business cycles
Ensure compliance with established AP policies and procedures
Required Qualifications
Strong Accounts Payable experience (3–5 years preferred if no degree)
Proficiency in Excel, including pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and spreadsheet management
Experience with AP or ERP systems (any comparable system acceptable; training provided)
High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
Ability to receive and apply real‑time feedback
Clear communication skills and proactive problem‑solving approach
Preferred Qualifications
Associate or bachelor’s degree in accounting, Business, or a related field
Experience in nonprofit, grant‑based, or high‑volume/seasonal environments (helpful but not required)

Compensation
Hourly pay range: $21.50–$23.50 DOE.
Paid holidays available during the contract period
Pay Details: $21.00 to $23.00 per hour
