Accounts Payable Specialist – Houston, TX

About the Opportunity
Our client, a well‑established company in Houston, is seeking a detail‑oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to join their team on an open‑ended contract basis. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast‑paced environment, takes ownership of their work, and enjoys contributing to a collaborative accounting team.
Key Responsibilities
Process high‑volume vendor invoices accurately and in a timely manner
Match, batch, and code invoices in accordance with company policies
Reconcile vendor statements and research discrepancies
Assist with weekly check runs, ACH payments, and expense reports
Communicate with vendors and internal departments to resolve billing issues
Maintain organized AP records and support month‑end close activities
Provide general accounting support as needed
Qualifications
2+ years of Accounts Payable experience
Strong understanding of invoice flow and AP best practices
Solid Excel skills (VLOOKUP, pivot tables preferred)
Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or similar) a plus
Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and follow‑through
Strong communication and problem‑solving skills

Assignment: Open‑ended contract with long‑term potential
Pay Details: $22.00 to $26.50 per hour
