Accounts Payable Specialist

LHH is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounts Payable Specialist to join our client’s finance team. The Accounts Payable Specialist will be responsible for processing vendor invoices, maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring timely payments, and supporting month-end closing activities. The ideal candidate has strong analytical skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. The anticipated pay range for this role is between $28-$30 a hour.
Responsibilities:
· Review, verify, and process vendor invoices for accuracy and proper approval.
· Match invoices with purchase orders and receiving documents.
· Prepare and process weekly and monthly payment runs via check, ACH, wire transfer, and other payment methods.
· Maintain vendor records and ensure accurate tax and banking information.
· Reconcile vendor statements and resolve invoice discrepancies in a timely manner.
· Respond to vendor inquiries regarding payment status and account issues.
· Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities, including account reconciliations.
· Monitor accounts payable aging reports and ensure timely payment of obligations.
· Support audits by providing documentation and responding to auditor requests.
· Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting procedures, and internal controls.
· Collaborate with purchasing, operations, and accounting teams to improve processes and workflows.
Qualifications:
· Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
· 2+ years of accounts payable or general accounting experience.
· Proficiency with accounting software and ERP systems.
· Strong knowledge of accounts payable processes and accounting principles.
· Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite.
· Excellent organizational, time-management, and problem-solving skills.
· Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
· Effective written and verbal communication skills.
· Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or Microsoft Dynamics preferred.
· Professional accounting certifications are a plus.
