Accounts Payable Specialist
Location: Montebello, CA
Pay: $26.00 - $30.00 per hour DOE
Position Type: Contract-to-Hire
We are seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to support a busy accounting department in Montebello. The ideal candidate will have strong invoice processing experience, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a high-volume environment.
Responsibilities

Process and verify vendor invoices for accuracy, completeness, and proper approvals

Perform 2-way and 3-way matching of invoices, purchase orders, and receiving documentation

Code invoices to the appropriate general ledger accounts and cost centers

Research and resolve vendor inquiries, payment discrepancies, and invoice exceptions

Reconcile vendor statements and assist with month-end AP reconciliations

Prepare ACH, wire, and check payment batches for approval and processing

Maintain vendor files, including W-9s, tax documentation, and payment information

Monitor AP aging and assist with ensuring timely payment of outstanding obligations

Support credit card and employee expense reimbursement processing

Collaborate with purchasing, receiving, and accounting teams to resolve issues and improve workflow efficiency
Qualifications
-
3+ years of Accounts Payable experience in a high-volume environment

Strong understanding of invoice processing, AP reconciliations, and payment procedures

Experience with 2-way and 3-way matching preferred

Knowledge of general ledger coding and account allocations

Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills, including sorting, filtering, and formulas

ERP or accounting software experience required

Strong organizational skills with the ability to meet deadlines and prioritize workload

Excellent communication skills and a customer-service-oriented approach
