Accounts Payable Specialist
Location: Santa Monica, CA (On-site)
Employment Type: (Temporary to Hire)
Compensation: $26.00-$28.00 per hour
Overview
Our client, a well-established consumer products company based in Santa Monica, is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join their accounting team. This role is ideal for candidates who have worked in large, high-volume environments and are comfortable processing 500+ invoices per week with accuracy and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Process high-volume Accounts Payable, handling 500+ invoices weekly
Perform invoice review, coding, and entry with strong attention to detail
Execute three-way matching (PO, invoice, receipt) where applicable
Manage weekly check runs and ACH/wire payments
Reconcile vendor statements and resolve invoice discrepancies
Maintain vendor records, including new vendor setup and W-9 collection
Respond to vendor inquiries and partner with internal teams to resolve issues
Support month-end close, including accruals and reconciliations
Assist with 1099 preparation and audit support as needed
Ensure compliance with internal controls and company policies
Required Qualifications
3+ years of Accounts Payable experience in a large company or corporate environment
Proven experience processing 500+ invoices per week
Background in consumer products, manufacturing, retail, or CPG environments preferred
Strong understanding of high-volume AP workflows and deadlines
Proficiency with ERP/accounting systems and Excel
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
