We’re partnering with a respected healthcare organization in North Phoenix seeking an Accounts Receivable (AR) Manager to lead A/R operations, improve collections performance, and drive timely, accurate reimbursement. This direct-hire, hybrid opportunity is ideal for a hands-on leader who can coach teams, manage payer escalation, and strengthen denial/appeals processes.
What You’ll Do (Key Responsibilities)
  • Lead day-to-day medical accounts receivable operations, ensuring strong follow-up, resolution, and reimbursement outcomes
  • Oversee and optimize workflows related to payment posting, adjustments, denials management, and appeals
  • Ensure correct application and governance of contractual/non-contractual adjustments and bad debt codes
  • Monitor and address underpayments/low reimbursements, determining when payer escalation or appeals are required
  • Guide the team in researching and resolving denials using EOBs and A/R reports, payer rules, and contract/coding guidelines
  • Support and/or oversee preparation of written appeals, documentation, corrections, and claim resubmissions
  • Partner cross-functionally (billing, coding, front office, leadership) to remove barriers and prevent recurring issues
  • Review suspended/problem claims and ensure timely correction and release
  • Improve accuracy of insurance verification/updates and appropriate redirection of charges
  • Oversee the identification and processing of refunds to patients and payers
  • Maintain accountability for daily/weekly reporting, batch balancing, discrepancy resolution, and A/R aging priorities
  • Establish and track team performance metrics (e.g., denial turnaround, aging trends, appeal outcomes) and implement process improvements
  • Maintain compliance with applicable billing/coding updates and internal policies
  • Handle escalated payer and patient billing issues when needed
  • Support hiring, training, coaching, and ongoing development of A/R staff
What We’re Looking For
  • Leadership experience in healthcare A/R (including denials, appeals, payments, and adjustments)
  • Strong understanding of payer behavior, EOB analysis, and reimbursement drivers
  • Ability to lead through data: A/R aging trends, denial categories, underpayment patterns
  • Confident communicator who can work across departments and handle escalations professionally
  • Process-improvement mindset with a hands-on approach
Compensation & Schedule
  • Salary Range: $75,000–$80,000 (depending on experience)
  • Type: Full-Time, Direct Hire
  • Schedule: Monday–Friday
  • Location: Hybrid (North Phoenix)
  • Medical, Dental, and Vision benefits
  • 401k match available
  • Paid Time Off
