Accounts Receivable Specialist


Location: Elgin, Illinois -Hybrid (after training)
Job Type: Full-Time
Reports To: Accounting Manager

Position Summary:

LHH Recruitment Solutions is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accounts Receivable Specialist to jointhe finance team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in accounts receivable, with a strong focus on cash application and billing processes. This role is critical in ensuring timely and accurate processing of incoming payments and maintaining healthy cash flow for the organization.

This position offers a hybrid work schedule following the completion of training.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accurately apply daily cash receipts to customer accounts across multiple systems and payment platforms (ACH, wire, lockbox, credit card, etc.)

  • Generate and distribute customer invoices in a timely and accurate manner

  • Reconcile customer accounts and resolve discrepancies related to payments, credits, and billing issues

  • Collaborate with internal departments (Sales, Customer Service, etc.) to resolve billing disputes and ensure customer satisfaction

  • Monitor aging reports and assist with collections efforts as needed

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all receivable transactions

  • Assist with month-end close processes related to AR and cash application

  • Support audits by providing necessary documentation and reports

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Accounts Receivable, with a strong emphasis on cash application and billing

  • Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) and Microsoft Excel

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with high-volume cash application environments

  • Familiarity with automated billing systems and electronic payment platforms

  • Knowledge of GAAP and internal controls related to AR processes

Compensation:

  • Salary: $60,000 – $65,000 annually, based on experience
