Accounts Receivable Specialist

The Accounts Receivable Specialist is responsible for managing customer accounts, ensuring timely and accurate billing, cash application, and collections. This role partners closely with customers and internal teams to resolve discrepancies, reduce aging balances, and support overall cash flow objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage assigned customer accounts and monitor accounts receivable aging.
Apply and reconcile cash receipts, including check, ACH, and wire payments.
Prepare and distribute customer invoices and account statements.
Initiate collection efforts on past-due accounts and follow up on outstanding balances.
Research and resolve short payments, deductions, chargebacks, and credit memos.
Maintain accurate customer account records and documentation.
Collaborate with sales, customer service, and finance teams to resolve billing issues.
Assist with account reconciliations, month-end close, and audit support.
Support credit reviews, account setup, and customer maintenance as needed.
Identify opportunities to improve AR processes and collection efficiency.
Qualifications:
Associate or bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred.
2–4+ years of accounts receivable or collections experience.
Solid understanding of AR processes, debits/credits, and cash application.
Experience with ERP or accounting systems.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Office tools.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Professional communication skills with internal teams and external customers.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in a high-volume or B2B environment.
Manufacturing, distribution, or corporate accounting experience.
Familiarity with internal controls or SOX compliance.
Pay Details: $22.00 to $27.00 per hour
