Accounts Receivable Specialist

LHH is partnering with a premiere construction company in Houston, TX to find a detail-oriented and highly analytical Accounts Receivable Specialist who thrives in a fast-paced, hands-on environment! This role offers early work hours with a stable schedule.
Candidates should have at least two years of recent B2B collections experience, including cash applications. Experience in the construction industry is preferred.
Annual salary for the AR Specialist ranges between $65K and $70K per year depending on experience and Excel proficiency.
Responsibilities:
Oversee accounts receivable collection activities and document all customer interactions thoroughly
Prepare and distribute lien-related notices in accordance with applicable state regulations and timelines
Monitor filing deadlines and maintain organized records for lien documentation
Collaborate with internal or external legal resources on lien processes and required paperwork
Analyze aging reports to identify and prioritize overdue accounts
Apply and reconcile incoming payments from various methods, including electronic transfers and third-party systems
Investigate and resolve discrepancies related to payments or account balances
Assist with onboarding new customers, including handling required documentation and compliance checks
Maintain accurate financial records within accounting and ERP systems
Manage shared inbox communications and respond to customer inquiries promptly and professionally
Use spreadsheet tools to organize, track, and analyze receivables data
Identify opportunities to streamline processes and improve efficiency
Qualifications:
At least 2 years of experience in business-to-business collections or accounts receivable
Demonstrated knowledge of collections processes, payment application, and account reconciliation
Experience in construction or a related industry is a plus
Proficiency in spreadsheet software, including data analysis functions
Ability to work independently and take initiative
Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail
Effective time management and organizational abilities
Comfortable handling a high volume of work in a deadline-driven environment
Pay Details: $65,000.00 to $70,000.00 per year
