Pay Rate: $21–$27/hour
Schedule: Full-Time, 40 hours/week (Monday–Friday)
Start Time Flexibility: As early as 7:00–7:30 AM or as late as 9:00–9:30 AM
About the Opportunity
I’m hiring an Accounts Receivable Specialist for a busy ambulatory surgery center located on the north side of Indianapolis. This is an onsite role supporting a billing team that has recently brought revenue cycle operations in-house and is actively working to reduce aging AR and improve cash flow.
This position offers strong potential for long-term hire. The team is collaborative, fast-paced, and values professionals who work well onsite and contribute positively to the group.
What You’ll Be Doing
This role focuses on end-to-end healthcare accounts receivable follow-up after claims have been released from the clearinghouse. Responsibilities include:
Managing insurance A/R from post-coding through payment resolution
Working unpaid, underpaid, and denied claims to final payment
Reviewing and correcting claim issues, submitting appeals, and following payer guidelines
Monitoring clearinghouse activity for claim status, rejections, and payments
Posting insurance and patient payments accurately
Ensuring accuracy of charges, payments, and claim submissions
Responding to billing-related phone calls and correspondence
Assisting with daily billing office operations to keep workflows moving efficiently
Maintaining clear documentation and organized records within the billing system
Required Qualifications
At least 2 years of experience in a medical office setting, ideally within a surgical or ASC environment
Working knowledge of medical terminology
General understanding of CPT and ICD coding
Prior healthcare billing or A/R experience required
High school diploma or equivalent required

100% onsite (no remote or hybrid option)
Office-based role within a surgical center billing department
