Accounts Receivable Specialist

Location: Plymouth, MN

Employment Type: Permanent

Pay Rate: $22–27/hour

Position Overview

We are looking for a detail‑oriented Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our Accounting team in Plymouth, MN. This is a permanent role focused on ensuring accurate payment application, resolving customer billing issues, and maintaining current and accurate customer accounts. The ideal candidate enjoys problem‑solving, working with customers, and collaborating closely with internal teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review, research, and resolve customer billing discrepancies, including short payments and deductions

  • Investigate invoice disputes and payment variances in a timely manner

  • Apply customer payments accurately, including ACH, check, and remote deposits

  • Reconcile daily deposits and resolve posting discrepancies

  • Coordinate with Accounting and AR team members to correct posting or tax‑related issues

  • Research returned mail and update customer billing information as needed

  • Respond to internal and external customer inquiries with a strong service mindset

  • Prepare and maintain accounts receivable reports as requested

  • Ensure all transactions are posted timely and accurately in the accounting system

  • Support additional AR or accounting tasks as assigned

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required

  • 2+ years of accounts receivable or related accounting experience preferred

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with team members in a fast‑paced environment

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy

  • Excellent time management and organizational skills

  • Self‑motivated and able to work independently

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel; experience with bank portals is a plus

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Customer‑focused with strong interpersonal skills

  • Effective problem‑solving and analytical abilities
