Assistant Controller

Are you an experienced accounting professional with a strong background in corporate accounting, financial reporting and international operations? LHH Professional Recruitment Solutions is partnering with a global energy company to find an Assistant Controller to join their Houston-based team. This is a newly created role offering the opportunity to help shape the U.S. finance function for a growing, cash-flow-positive organization with a dynamic leadership team and global footprint.

Primary responsibilities of the Assistant Controller role include:

  • Oversee monthly close, consolidations, and financial reporting under IFRS

  • Manage statutory filings, audit coordination, and compliance for international entities

  • Lead budgeting and forecasting processes, including variance analysis and board reporting

  • Support implementation of new accounting systems and process improvements

  • Collaborate with external advisors on tax filings and regulatory compliance

  • Serve as a key liaison across finance, audit, and executive leadership teams

Primary qualifications include:

  • 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, in oil & gas

  • In-depth Oil & gas industry experience

  • Strong knowledge of IFRS and international reporting standards

  • CPA or Chartered Accountant

  • Experience managing audits, consolidations, and multi-entity reporting

  • Proficiency in Excel, ERP and data reporting systems

  • Strong communication skills and ability to work independently in a fast-paced, evolving environment

Pay Details: $150,000.00 to $180,000.00 per year
