Assistant Operations Manager
Reports to: VP of Operations
Travel: Limited travel to Tucson (company vehicle)
On‑Call: After‑hours and Saturday support required occasionally Monday -Friday 6am - 3:30pm scheduled
Compensation: $55k - $65k annual salary
Summary
The Assistant Operations Manager serves as the right hand to the VP of Operations and helps run the day‑to‑day operations of a busy distribution environment. This role is highly hands‑on, supporting facility upkeep, equipment coordination, customer service, inventory flow, and problem‑solving across multiple locations. Ideal for someone who thrives in a fast‑paced, physical operations setting and wants long‑term growth into broader leadership.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee daily warehouse and yard operations to keep orders and workflow on track
Coordinate repairs and maintenance (forklifts, lighting, HVAC filters, facility needs)
Support store managers with staffing, priorities, and consistent operating standards
Assist on the floor during busy periods; operate a forklift when needed (certification a plus)
Handle after‑hours issues and make quick, informed decisions to restore operations
Maintain inventory accuracy, shipping/receiving flow, and customer communication
Promote safety practices and ensure compliance with equipment and facility standards
Track operational KPIs and suggest improvements to efficiency and processes
Qualifications
4+ years in distribution, manufacturing, construction, or similar operations
Experience leading or coordinating frontline teams
Strong problem‑solving skills; comfortable working independently without hand‑holding
Effective communication with customers, managers, drivers, and executives
Ability to lift/move materials; comfort working indoors/outdoors
Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
Forklift experience or willingness to train; certification preferred but not required

Pay Details: $50,000.00 to $60,000.00 per year
