LHH Recruitment Solutions is partnering with a well‑established organization in The Woodlands, TX to hire a Benefits & Compensation Manager on a temp‑to‑hire basis. This role is intended to convert to permanent after 3–6 months, with the possibility of earlier conversion based on performance and business needs.

This is a hands‑on, working manager role focused heavily on benefits administration, with lighter exposure to compensation analysis and vendor support.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Hourly Rate: $57.00 – $62.50/hour

  • Temp‑to‑Hire Conversion Salary: $120,000 – $130,000 annually

  • Bonus (Upon Conversion):

    • Annual discretionary incentive paid in April (individual & company performance)

    • Annual merit increase

  • Benefits (Upon Conversion):

    • Medical, Dental, Vision – 100% employer‑paid for employee and spouse

    • 401(k) with dollar‑for‑dollar match up to 6%, vested day one

    • 2 weeks PTO

  • Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Position Summary

The Benefits & Compensation Manager will serve as a hands‑on leader responsible for administering and optimizing the organization’s health, welfare, retirement, and compensation programs. This role works closely with the Benefits team and HR leadership, contributing directly to daily operations while also supporting analysis, compliance, vendor management, and process improvement initiatives.

This is not a purely strategic role — the ideal candidate is comfortable rolling up their sleeves and jumping in where needed.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and actively participate in benefits administration using the HRIS

  • Manage and administer 401(k) and retirement plans

  • Support compensation programs including salary benchmarking, analysis, and vendor coordination

  • Assist with annual compensation review cycles and incentive programs

  • Manage monthly carrier invoices, auditing for accuracy and coordinating payments

  • Lead and support open enrollment, including communications, system updates, vendor coordination, and employee education

  • Maintain benefit documentation, compliance filings (including 5500s), and employee communications

  • Serve as subject matter expert and primary point of contact for all benefit plans

  • Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations related to benefits and compensation

  • Develop and maintain SOPs for all benefits and compensation processes

  • Back up Benefits team members as needed

  • Partner with HR leadership on continuous improvement initiatives

 

Required Qualifications

  • 8+ years of progressive HR experience with a focus on Benefits & Compensation or Total Rewards

  • Bachelor’s degree required

  • Deep, hands‑on experience with benefits administration (80% of role)

    • Health & welfare plans

    • Leave administration (plus)

    • Open enrollment management

    • Retirement / 401(k) plans

  • Working knowledge of compensation analysis and salary benchmarking (20%)

  • HRIS experience required

    • Paycom strongly preferred

    • Paycor, Paylocity, ADP Workforce Now, Oracle, or Workday acceptable

  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, formulas)

  • SHRM or HRCI certification preferred

  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
