LHH has partned with a large non-profit organization located in Manhattan on this Billing Assistant position. This individual will play a key role in managing billing operations, with a strong focus on Medicaid and Managed Care Organization (MCO) billing. The ideal candidate brings prior experience in healthcare or nonprofit environments and thrives in a collaborative, mission-driven setting. This position is fully onsite during the temporary duration, with the option to go hybrid once converting to a permanent role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare, review, and submit Medicaid and MCO claims in a timely and accurate manner

  • Monitor billing workflows to ensure compliance with payer requirements and organizational policies

  • Investigate and resolve claim rejections, denials, and discrepancies

  • Maintain accurate billing records and documentation in compliance with regulatory standards

  • Reconcile accounts receivable and follow up on outstanding balances

  • Collaborate with internal departments to ensure proper coding, documentation, and billing processes

  • Assist with month-end billing close and reporting activities

  • Support audits by gathering necessary documentation and responding to inquiries

  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial and patient information

Qualifications

  • 1+ year of billing experience, preferably in Medicaid and MCO billing

  • Prior experience in a nonprofit or healthcare organization strongly preferred

  • Familiarity with billing systems and electronic health record (EHR) platforms

  • Strong understanding of healthcare billing regulations and compliance requirements



Pay Details: $27.00 to $35.00 per hour
