Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

 

A growing organization in the energy insurance sector is seeking a strategic, hands‑on Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead all financial operations and partner directly with executive leadership. This is a high‑visibility role for an experienced finance leader who thrives in a collaborative, transparent environment and enjoys driving both strategy and execution.

What You’ll Lead

  • Own all financial planning, analysis, reporting, and forecasting

  • Develop and implement financial controls, accounting standards, and compliance practices

  • Direct monthly/quarterly reporting, annual statements, and financial audits

  • Partner with leadership to optimize performance, reduce costs, and support business growth

  • Oversee expense management, GL operations, and financial systems

  • Lead process improvement and automation initiatives

  • Manage a team including Controller-level and Accounting functions

  • Serve as a key contributor to strategic planning and operational decision‑making

 

Ideal Background

  • 10+ years of progressive financial leadership experience

  • Property & Casualty insurance industry experience required (Statutory + GAAP reporting)

  • Experience in energy, oil & gas, or complex multi‑state environments preferred

  • Strong background in financial reporting, planning, and expense management

  • Systems experience with PeopleSoft, Oracle, Excel; familiarity with billing workflows

  • Proven leadership capabilities with a track record of developing and engaging teams

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, communicate clearly, and influence at all levels

  • Bachelor’s in Accounting or Finance required; CPA and/or MBA strongly preferred
