Position Summary
The Collections Specialist is responsible for managing the business‑to‑business (B2B) collections process, ensuring timely receipt of payments, reducing outstanding receivables, and maintaining accurate account records. This role requires strong communication skills, a proactive approach to resolving payment issues, and solid knowledge of aging reports and accounts receivable practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of B2B accounts, proactively following up on past‑due invoices and maintaining consistent communication with clients.

  • Review, analyze, and interpret aging reports to prioritize collection efforts and identify delinquent accounts.

  • Investigate payment discrepancies, resolve billing issues, and work cross‑functionally with Accounting, Sales, and Customer Service to ensure quick resolution.

  • Document all collection activities, communications, and account status updates in the company’s system.

  • Negotiate payment arrangements and settlements in alignment with company policies.

  • Prepare weekly and monthly reports on collections progress, aging trends, and risk areas for management review.

  • Escalate severely delinquent accounts to management or external agencies when appropriate.

  • Assist with month‑end close activities, including AR reconciliations and reporting as needed.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of B2B collections experience.

  • Strong understanding of aging reports and AR reconciliation processes.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to build professional client relationships.

  • Proficiency with accounting/ERP systems and Excel.

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize high‑volume accounts.

  • Ability to problem‑solve, negotiate, and maintain professionalism in challenging situations.

  • High attention to detail and accuracy in record‑keeping.

Pay Details: $28.00 to $36.00 per hour
