Collections Specialist (Temp-to-Hire | Hybrid – Ballantyne area in Charlotte, NC)
LHH is seeking a proactive Collections Specialist to support the Accounts Receivable team with timely collection of outstanding balances and resolution of customer payment issues. This is a temp-to-hire opportunity with a hybrid schedule after training, reporting to an office location in Ballantyne. The ideal candidate is professional, detail-oriented, and experienced in AR collections within a fast-paced corporate environment.
Key Responsibilities
· Manage a portfolio of customer accounts and follow up on past-due balances
· Contact customers via phone and email to secure payment and resolve delinquent accounts
· Review aging reports and prioritize collection activities
· Research and resolve billing discrepancies, short pays, and disputes
· Document collection efforts, customer conversations, and payment commitments accurately
· Partner with billing, AR, and internal teams to resolve invoice and payment issues
· Prepare basic reports and updates on collection status for management
· Support month-end AR close activities as needed
Qualifications
· 1–3+ years of collections or accounts receivable experience
· Experience working in an ERP or accounting system preferred
· Strong communication and negotiation skills with a customer-service mindset
· Ability to manage multiple accounts and deadlines independently
· Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Excel (pivot tables and vlookups)
· Local to the Ballantyne/Charlotte area for hybrid schedule
Compensation and Work Schedule
· $26/hour - $28/hour
· Hybrid schedule (on-site and remote) after initial training period; 3 days onsite, 2 days work from home
