Overview
We are seeking a detail‑oriented Collections Specialist to support Accounts Receivable operations. This role focuses on applying payments, managing past‑due accounts, resolving billing issues, and maintaining accurate customer records to support healthy cash flow.
Key Responsibilities • Manage and maintain AR customer accounts
• Apply and post payments, including credit card transactions
• Perform collection outreach via phone, email, and written correspondence
• Resolve billing discrepancies and unapplied cash items
• Monitor declined/open credit card charges
• Prepare and distribute monthly customer statements
• Reconcile accounts and ensure accuracy
• Document collection activity in accounting/CRM systems
• Collaborate with customer service and internal teams
• Assist with additional AR tasks as needed
Requirements • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field
• 2+ years of accounts receivable or collections experience
• Strong communication and negotiation skills
• Experience resolving billing issues and negotiating payment plans
• Proficient in accounting systems (e.g., QuickBooks, Microsoft Dynamics, Oracle)
• Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills
• Detail‑oriented, organized, and deadline‑driven
