LHH is looking for a Paralegal – Commercial Litigation (Defense) in Chicago to  support a growing defense-side commercial litigation practice. This is a great opportunity to join a collaborative team and gain hands-on experience across all phases of litigation.


Compensation

  • $70,000–$80,000 base salary, depending on experience


Team Structure

  • Work alongside 12 attorneys and 2 senior paralegals

  • This is a newly created position due to increased workload

  • Receive direct training and mentorship from experienced senior paralegals


Billable Hours

  • No formal billable requirement

  • Some tasks are billable

  • Training provided on time entry and billing practices


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide litigation support from case inception through discovery

  • Handle e-filing in state and federal courts

  • Utilize PACER for federal filings and case research

  • Manage and organize documents using document management systems

  • Assist with document productions

  • Coordinate service and tracking of subpoenas

 Qualifications

  • Experience in commercial litigation strongly preferred

  • Defense-side experience is highly valued

  • Familiarity with court filing procedures (state & federal)

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Ability to manage multiple matters in a fast-paced environment

  • Hybrid schedule (in-office + remote flexibility)

  • Based in Chicago office
