Construction Accountant

We are looking for a construction accounting for an onsite role in San Francisco, CA. The ideal candidate will have at least three years of experience as an accounting and/or payroll professional from the construction industry who can thrive in a team environment. Responsibilities

• Process union and non‑union payroll, including prevailing wage and certified payroll reporting

• Maintain accurate job costing, labor allocation, and project financial tracking

• Prepare and record journal entries; assist with month‑end close and account reconciliations

• Ensure compliance with union agreements, payroll regulations, and project‑specific requirements

• Collaborate with project managers on budgets, cost tracking, and variance analysis

• Support audits, payroll reviews, and reporting requests as needed

Qualifications

• 3+ years of accounting experience within the construction industry

• Hands‑on experience with union payroll, including multiple unions and wage rates

• Strong understanding of job costing and construction accounting principles

• Experience with accounting or payroll systems (Vista, Spectrum, Sage, QuickBooks, or similar)

• Advanced Excel skills and strong attention to detail

• Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast‑paced environment

Pay Details: $38.00 to $43.00 per hour
