Consumer Insights Consultant (Part‑Time, Remote)
Pay Rate: $76 – $89 per hour
We are seeking an experienced Consumer Insights Consultant to support strategic brand building, innovation development, and consumer‑driven decision making for upcoming 2027 initiatives. This is a part‑time, fully remote role ideal for a senior‑level insights professional with deep CPG or beauty/personal care experience.
Position Details
Schedule: ~20 hours per week (hours may flex slightly based on business needs)
Location: Fully Remote
Travel: Occasional travel to Morristown, NJ
Time Zones: Open to all U.S. locations; must be able to work EST hours
Team: Part of a collaborative team of six
Duration: Possibility of extension
Future Outlook: Hours may increase after December
About the Role
The Consumer Insights Consultant provides strategic insight leadership to guide brand building, innovation pipeline development, communications strategy, and claims exploration. This role is highly collaborative, working cross‑functionally to design research, synthesize insights, and deliver recommendations that shape the 2027 innovation roadmap and beyond.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and maintain a rolling Consumer Learning Plan
Prioritize research needs across innovation, claims, communications, packaging, and renovation
Translate business questions into actionable insight frameworks
Provide forward‑looking category and consumer perspectives (including 2028+ trends)
Lead qualitative and quantitative research supporting 2027 initiatives
Conduct volumetrics, naming exploration, and claims/comms testing
Propose agile research solutions when timelines or budgets shift
Support assessment of potential line extensions
Manage agile vendors and research platforms
Build templates, claim matrices, and decision frameworks
Maintain an organized insight repository
Deliver clear, executive‑ready synthesis for leadership

Required Qualifications
15+ years of experience in consumer insights, brand strategy, CPG, or consumer health
Strong strategic thinking and leadership, ideally within Agile environments
Experience in consumer packaging or broader CPG categories
Background in consumer insights for beauty or personal care strongly preferred
Expertise in research design across qualitative & quantitative methodologies
Experience with volumetrics, naming studies, claims, and communications testing
Proficient with tools such as:
iKnow, Demand Landscaping, or similar databases
SharePoint reporting
Data gathering platforms
PowerPoint (strong presentation-building skills)
Ability to turn complex data into clear, compelling recommendations
Vendor management experience
Bachelor’s degree required
Preferred Qualities
Experience in large‑scale CPG or beauty/personal care environments
Highly collaborative, approachable, and low‑ego demeanor
Comfortable navigating shifting timelines and priorities
Strong communication and stakeholder‑management skills
