Contract Attorney – Real Estate Development (Homebuilder Focus)
Location: Charlotte, NC (Hybrid – Flexible weekly onsite schedule required)
Schedule: 35–40 hours/week on average – must be available during regular business hours
Compensation: $65–$85/hour, DOE
Employment Type: Full-Time Contract


LHH Recruitment Solutions is seeking a skilled Contract Attorney to support a prestigious law firm client with a strong presence in the real estate development sector. This long-term W2 contract opportunity requires active North Carolina licensure and direct experience in homebuilding and residential real estate development.


Key Responsibilities:
•    Draft and negotiate purchase and sale agreements, lot contracts, and closing documents for residential developments.
•    Review and resolve title and survey issues, ensuring compliance with local and state regulations.
•    Prepare and revise homeowners association documents, easement agreements, and other development-related legal instruments.
•    Provide legal support for land acquisition, site development, and community governance structures.
•    Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners to ensure smooth execution of real estate transactions.
•    Maintain a high level of accuracy and consistency in contract language and legal documentation.
•    Advise on zoning, land use, and regulatory compliance matters relevant to residential construction and development.
•    Support legal operations related to property management, construction agreements, and real estate closings.


Qualifications:
•    Active license to practice law in North Carolina and in good standing.
•    Minimum of 3+ years of US attorney experience in real estate law with a homebuilder or in a law firm serving residential developers.
•    Strong understanding of real estate contracts, development agreements, and community governance documents.
•    Ability to work independently and manage a consistent workload focused on real estate development matters.
•    Willingness to commit to a long-term engagement (initial 6-month term with strong potential for extension).
•    Must be located in or near Charlotte, NC, with availability for onsite requirements and a hybrid/remote schedule.
•    Candidates must not engage in concurrent legal work during the W2 contract period.

 



Pay Details: $65.00 to $85.00 per hour
