A well-established manufacturing organization is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant for an immediate contract engagement. This role will support core accounting operations during a period of increased workload and will play a key role in month-end close, general ledger activities, and manufacturing cost accounting. The ideal candidate is hands-on, detail-oriented, and comfortable stepping in quickly with minimal ramp-up time.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain general ledger accounts, including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations

  • Lead or support month-end and year-end close processes

  • Prepare and analyze financial statements and supporting schedules

  • Support manufacturing accounting functions such as inventory, cost accounting, and variance analysis

  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts and investigate discrepancies

  • Assist with audits and provide documentation as needed

  • Collaborate with operations and finance teams to ensure accurate financial reporting

  • Identify process improvement opportunities and support documentation as needed

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance

  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including senior‑level responsibilities

  • Manufacturing industry experience required (inventory, cost accounting, WIP strongly preferred)

  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and general ledger accounting

  • Experience with month-end close in a fast‑paced environment

  • Proficiency with ERP systems and Excel

  • Ability to start immediately or on short notice
