Contract Senior Accountant

A well-established manufacturing organization is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant for an immediate contract engagement. This role will support core accounting operations during a period of increased workload and will play a key role in month-end close, general ledger activities, and manufacturing cost accounting. The ideal candidate is hands-on, detail-oriented, and comfortable stepping in quickly with minimal ramp-up time.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and maintain general ledger accounts, including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations
Lead or support month-end and year-end close processes
Prepare and analyze financial statements and supporting schedules
Support manufacturing accounting functions such as inventory, cost accounting, and variance analysis
Reconcile balance sheet accounts and investigate discrepancies
Assist with audits and provide documentation as needed
Collaborate with operations and finance teams to ensure accurate financial reporting
Identify process improvement opportunities and support documentation as needed
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including senior‑level responsibilities
Manufacturing industry experience required (inventory, cost accounting, WIP strongly preferred)
Strong knowledge of GAAP and general ledger accounting
Experience with month-end close in a fast‑paced environment
Proficiency with ERP systems and Excel
Ability to start immediately or on short notice
Contract Details
Contract position with potential for extension
Competitive hourly rate based on experience

Pay Details: $28.00 to $32.00 per hour
