Job Title: Controller
Location: Nashville, TN (On-site)
Employment Type: Direct Hire
Salary Range: $175,000 – $200,000/year (based on experience and qualifications)
Position Overview
Our client is seeking a seasoned Controller to lead their accounting operations and financial reporting functions. This is a high-impact leadership role responsible for ensuring accuracy, compliance, and strategic alignment across all financial activities. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in accounting and finance, strong leadership capabilities, and a proactive approach to process improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all accounting operations including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and financial reporting
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal controls
- Lead month-end and year-end close processes
- Manage budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
- Coordinate external audits and tax filings
- Develop and implement financial policies and procedures
- Provide strategic financial insights to executive leadership
- Mentor and manage the accounting team
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (required)
- CPA certification (preferred)
- 7–10 years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership roles
- Strong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls
- Experience with ERP systems and advanced Excel skills
- Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills
- Proven ability to lead teams and collaborate cross-functionally
