Our client is an established and growing healthcare company looking for an experienced, hands-on Controller to take on a key leadership role across accounting and finance. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys both leading a team and staying close to the work, with visibility to senior leadership and the ability to make a real impact.

In this role, you’ll oversee the day-to-day accounting function, ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, strengthen internal controls, and support revenue cycle operations in a fast-paced healthcare environment. You’ll also help drive process improvements, partner with cross-functional teams, and serve as a trusted resource to the CFO.

What you’ll be doing

  • Lead the monthly close process, including journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and financial reporting

  • Oversee general ledger accuracy and support AP, AR, payroll, and cash management activities as needed

  • Partner with billing and revenue cycle teams to support revenue recognition, collections trends, and reimbursement analysis

  • Manage audit preparation and act as the primary contact for external auditors

  • Maintain strong internal controls and ensure compliance with GAAP and healthcare-related requirements

  • Mentor and guide a small accounting team while remaining actively involved in daily operations

  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, reporting timelines, and overall team efficiency

What we’re looking for

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA preferred

  • 7–10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including prior leadership or supervisory experience

  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and accounting operations

  • Advanced Excel skills and experience working with ERP/accounting systems

  • Healthcare industry experience strongly preferred

  • A collaborative, roll-up-your-sleeves mindset with strong ownership and attention to detail

Why this opportunity stands out

  • High-impact role with strong visibility to executive leadership

  • Blend of strategic oversight and hands-on execution

  • Opportunity to improve processes and help shape the finance function

  • Competitive compensation in the $175K–$185K range

  • Hybrid schedule, 2-3 days onsite weekly
