Controller

LHH is seeking an experienced Controller for a client seeking a hands-on accounting professional with strong expertise in cost accounting, financial reporting, and process improvement. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working directly with financial data, improving accounting processes, and supporting strategic business decisions. The anticipated pay range for this role is between $50.00 to $60.00 an hour.

 

Responsibilities:

·         Oversee cost accounting functions, including product costing, inventory valuation, margin analysis, and variance reporting.

·         Manage month-end close activities, account reconciliations, journal entries, and financial reporting.

·         Develop and improve accounting processes, procedures, and internal controls.

·         Prepare monthly financial statements and analyze financial performance.

·         Coordinate state and federal income tax reporting with external CPA firms and oversee sales, use, and property tax filings.

·         Manage daily cash reconciliations, ACH and wire transactions, and company credit card activity.

·         Maintain fixed asset records, inventory adjustments, and general ledger accuracy.

·         Lead the annual external financial audit and coordinate with auditors.

·         Generate financial reports and provide analysis to support business decisions.

 

Qualifications:

·         Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration required.

·         Minimum of 7 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably within a growing organization or large corporation.

·         Strong cost accounting background with experience in inventory valuation and financial reporting.

·         Previous management experience required; this position does not involve direct supervision.

·         CPA or CMA designation preferred.

·         Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and ERP systems.

·         Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

·         Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and communicate effectively across all levels of an organization.
