Overview
A privately held, U.S.‑based manufacturing company with approximately $60M in annual revenue is hiring a Corporate Controller to stabilize and run the day‑to‑day accounting function. This is a hands‑on execution role reporting directly to the CFO during a critical close, controls, and
systems transition period.
This opportunity is well suited for a Controller who enjoys being close to the work, values accuracy, and takes pride in clean, timely financials. Success comes from staying engaged with the details while managing a robust team, setting a strong execution standard, and ensuring deliverables are completed reliably. The CFO is direct and appreciates clear follow‑through. This role is best aligned with someone who prefers a hands‑on approach.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Hands‑On Accounting Execution
Personally prepare and post journal entries
Own month‑end and quarter‑end close
Prepare and review high‑volume bank reconciliations (no backlog tolerance)
Handle commissions, prepaids (including advertising), deferred revenue, payroll accruals, and interest income
Oversight & Leadership
Manage and develop an 8‑person accounting team (AP, AR, general accounting)
Drive accountability, output, and accuracy across the team
Identify recurring issues quickly and correct root causes
Technical & Systems Scope
Support international quarter‑end consolidations
Partner on ERP transition from Great Plains to Microsoft Business Central
Support audits and maintain disciplined internal controls
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Required Qualifications
Hands‑on Controller experience with direct GL and close ownership
Strong experience with high‑volume bank reconciliations
Manufacturing industry background
Accounting or Finance degree (or equivalent demonstrated experience)
5+ years of people leadership; comfortable managing ~8 direct reports while remaining fully hands‑on
Preferred Experience
Commission calculations, prepaids, deferred revenue, interest income
Microsoft Dynamics / Business Central familiarity
Cost accounting exposure
Consolidations experience, especially international

Compensation & Benefits
Base salary: $120,000–$130,000 (up to ~$140,000 for exceptional fit)
Bonus: Discretionary annual bonus based on company and individual performance
401(k): 50% match up to $1,500
