Corporate Counsel (Direct-to-Consumer)

Overview
Our client, an innovative and rapidly growing company in the food and beverage space, is seeking an experienced Corporate Counsel with deep expertise in Direct-to-Consumer (DTC) operations. This is a fully remote, part-time contract opportunity supporting a fast-evolving e-commerce and consumer-facing business.
This role offers the potential for a long-term engagement, with an initial expectation of at least a 6-month commitment. The ideal candidate is proactive, communicative, and thrives in a flexible, project-based environment.
Key Responsibilities
Advise on legal matters related to direct-to-consumer (DTC) sales channels and e-commerce operations
Provide guidance on data privacy, consumer protection, and advertising compliance
Review and assess marketing initiatives including affiliate programs, referral links, and promotional campaigns
Counsel on subscription models and consumer rights (e.g., renewals, cancellation policies)
Partner cross-functionally with business teams to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations
Draft, review, and negotiate agreements related to digital marketing, partnerships, and e-commerce activity
Qualifications
Juris Doctor (JD) and active bar license in good standing
Significant experience in Direct-to-Consumer (DTC) legal work
Background in food & beverage, consumer goods, or supplements/vitamins industry
Strong knowledge of data privacy laws, e-commerce regulations, and advertising compliance
Ability to work independently and communicate timelines proactively
