LHH Recruitment Solutions has partnered with a company local to Malvern, PA. We are seeking a hands-on and detail-oriented Director of Accounting to lead financial operations across multiple entities. This role is ideal for a seasoned accounting professional with strong analytical capabilities and the ability to operate independently in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment. The position will report directly to executive leadership and collaborate with ownership across various business units.
Job Title: Director of Accounting
Location: Malvern, PA (Onsite for first 90–120 days, then primarily remote)
Employment Type: Full-Time, 6-Month Contract
Compensation:
Base Salary: $100,000–$130,000 (based on experience)
Discretionary Bonus: ~10%
Key Responsibilities
Oversee accounting and financial reporting across all entities, ensuring accurate consolidation and visibility
Maintain general ledger, perform account reconciliations, and manage monthly financial reporting (Balance Sheet, Income Statement)
Lead the development and management of annual budgets and report on budget-to-actual variances
Prepare and maintain cash flow forecasts
Manage month-end close processes, journal entries, and reconciliations
Ensure accurate revenue recognition in compliance with accounting standards
Reconcile and validate vendor purchase orders, contract billing, and quoted amounts
Review and analyze vendor billing and monitor invoices on hold or pending credit
Oversee SG&A expense aggregation and vendor payment cycles
Manage asset capitalization, depreciation tracking, and accounting for asset sales
Handle sales tax and tax law compliance, including preparation of tax returns
Supervise 2–3 accounting staff and participate in hiring a full-time accounting assistant
Qualifications
Education & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
CPA preferred but not required
Experience in public/private accounting blend is ideal
Industry experience in construction, equipment rental, or related fields is a plus
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in accounting software such as Sage, Procore, Timerscan
Preferred knowledge of RENTALMAN, WYNEE, INTEMPO software
Strong Excel and financial modeling skills
Personal Attributes:
Ability to operate independently and manage multiple priorities
Strong interpersonal skills to work with executive leadership and ownership
Comfortable working with strong personalities in a construction-oriented environment
High attention to detail and organizational skills
Work Environment
Initial 90–120 days onsite in Malvern, PA for onboarding and integration
After onboarding, primarily remote with occasional in-person meetings
Reporting to two executives across equipment rental and construction divisions
