LHH Recruitment Solutions is working with a well established law firm in Camden County, NJ that is seeking a Director of Accounting & Finance to lead the firm’s financial operations. This is a hands on leadership role ideal for a finance professional with deep law firm experience who thrives in a lean environment and is comfortable partnering directly with Partners, the Board, and Shareholders. The successful candidate will bring strong technical accounting and financial acumen, sound judgment, and a high level of integrity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead all accounting and finance functions for the firm, including general accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and cash management
- Oversee day to day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and trust accounting
- Prepare and present timely, accurate financial statements and management reports to Partners, the Board, and Shareholders
- Manage the annual budgeting process and ongoing financial forecasts; analyze variances and provide actionable insights
- Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and internal controls
- Monitor cash flow, working capital, and financial performance to support firm profitability and strategic goals
- Lead, mentor, and develop a small accounting and finance team in a collaborative, hands on manner
- Partner with firm leadership on financial strategy, operational improvements, and long term planning
- Serve as a trusted financial advisor to firm leadership, demonstrating discretion, integrity, and sound business judgment
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
- 10+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience, preferably within a mid tier law firm environment
- Prior experience in a Director level or senior finance leadership role within a law firm
- Strong hands on experience across accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, AP, AR, payroll, and cash management
- Proven ability to manage and develop a lean team while remaining personally involved in day to day operations
- Experience reporting directly to Partners, Boards, and Shareholders
- Elite law firm or professional services experience is a plus
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial best practices
- High level of integrity, dependability, and professionalism
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively with senior stakeholders
Compensation:
$140,000-$165,000
Benefit offerings for full-time employment include medical, dental, vision
PTO is offered on an accrual basis
Paid Sick Leave where applicable by State law
