We are seeking an experienced HR Manager to support our manufacturing client in Wood Dale, IL on a temporary assignment. This is a hands-on role focused on driving key HR initiatives in a fast-paced, production-driven environment. The ideal candidate brings strong manufacturing HR experience, excellent employee relations skills, and the ability to operate independently while partnering closely with plant leadership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Employee Relations & HR Support

    • Serve as the on-site HR lead for production, maintenance, and administrative teams.

    • Provide daily HR guidance on employee relations, attendance, and policy interpretation.

    • Investigate and resolve employee issues in a fair and timely manner while maintaining confidentiality and compliance.

  • Recruitment & Onboarding

    • Manage hourly and salaried recruitment, including job postings, interviews, and offer coordination.

    • Support new hire orientation and onboarding to ensure a positive start for employees.

    • Partner with supervisors to identify staffing needs and maintain workforce levels.

  • HR Administration & Compliance

    • Administer HR processes including employee records, timekeeping, and FMLA/leave management.

    • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment regulations (EEO, ADA, FLSA, OSHA).

    • Maintain accurate HR metrics and assist with reporting as needed.

  • Performance & Culture

    • Support performance management and corrective action processes.

    • Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, and safety on the production floor.

    • Partner with leadership to drive employee engagement initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field preferred.

  • 5+ years of progressive HR experience, including at least 3 years in a manufacturing environment.

  • Strong working knowledge of HR compliance, employee relations, and hourly workforce management.

  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

  • HR certification (PHR or SHRM-CP) preferred but not required.

Pay Rate: $38 – $48 per hour, depending on experience.
