This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career IT or cybersecurity professional who has developed a strong foundation in security and wants to expand their hands-on experience. The ideal candidate does not need to have worked with every technology in our environment. We are looking for someone who understands core cybersecurity concepts, is naturally curious, enjoys troubleshooting, and demonstrates a genuine desire to continue learning.
This position will provide exposure to a broad range of security technologies and responsibilities, including security monitoring, incident response, endpoint and network security, vulnerability management, access controls, regulatory compliance, security awareness, and infrastructure protection.

Monitor and analyze security alerts, events, system activity, and network traffic for potential security threats.
Assist with the investigation, containment, remediation, and documentation of cybersecurity incidents.
Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot security systems and related infrastructure.
Assist with endpoint, network, application, and infrastructure security.
Review security logs and other technical information to identify suspicious or abnormal activity.
Participate in vulnerability assessments, security testing, and remediation activities.
Assist with strengthening and hardening systems to reduce security risks.
Support firewall, endpoint security, intrusion detection and prevention, security monitoring, and other cybersecurity controls.
Assist with user access reviews, account administration, permissions, and access-control processes.
Participate in security risk assessments and recommend improvements to the organization's security posture.
Help maintain security policies, procedures, technical documentation, and operational standards.
Participate in cybersecurity incident response and escalation procedures.
Support security-related patching, software updates, system upgrades, and remediation efforts.
Participate in disaster recovery, business continuity, change management, and security preparedness activities.
Assist with cybersecurity awareness and employee security education initiatives.
Coordinate with internal IT team members and third-party technology and security providers.
Participate in security projects and the evaluation of new technologies.
Assist with maintaining compliance with applicable security, privacy, and regulatory requirements.
Participate in an on-call rotation as required.
Stay current on cybersecurity threats, vulnerabilities, attack techniques, and security best practices.
Minimum Qualifications
Approximately 1–3 years of professional IT, cybersecurity, networking, systems administration, help desk, infrastructure, or related technical experience.
Foundational understanding of cybersecurity principles and common security threats.
Understanding of concepts related to:
Network security
Firewalls
Endpoint security
Threat detection and response
Security monitoring and logging
Vulnerability management
Identity and access management

System and network hardening
Security controls and defense-in-depth
Basic understanding of networking concepts, protocols, routing, and network traffic.

Ability to troubleshoot technical issues logically and methodically.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong attention to detail.
Ability to document technical findings clearly and accurately.
Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and nontechnical employees.

Demonstrated interest in cybersecurity and willingness to continuously develop new technical skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience in a cybersecurity-focused position, internship, apprenticeship, or security-related IT role.
Exposure to security monitoring, incident response, security operations, vulnerability management, penetration testing, or system hardening.
Experience working in a regulated environment.
Exposure to PCI DSS, risk assessments, change management, disaster recovery, or similar security and compliance frameworks.
Experience supporting environments that require high availability and 24/7 operations.
Experience working with third-party IT or cybersecurity service providers.
Previous experience in gaming, hospitality, financial services, healthcare, government, or another regulated industry is a plus.
Associate's or bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a related discipline is preferred, but equivalent hands-on experience will be considered.
Certifications
Cybersecurity or information technology certifications are preferred but not required.
Relevant certifications may include:
CompTIA Security+
CompTIA Network+
CompTIA CySA+
GIAC certifications
Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH)
Cisco security or networking certifications
Vendor-specific security certifications
Other relevant cybersecurity certifications
Candidates actively pursuing security certifications are also encouraged to apply.
What We Are Looking For
Technical experience is important, but we are equally interested in how you approach technology and security problems.
Successful candidates will demonstrate:
Curiosity: You want to understand how systems work and why something happened.
Initiative: You actively develop your cybersecurity knowledge instead of waiting for someone to teach you.
Learning ability: You can learn unfamiliar technologies and concepts quickly.
Analytical thinking: You enjoy investigating problems and gathering evidence before reaching conclusions.
Security mindset: You naturally think about vulnerabilities, risks, threats, and ways systems could be better protected.
Communication: You can explain what you found without unnecessarily complicating the message.
Collaboration: You enjoy working with infrastructure, networking, applications, vendors, and other IT professionals.
Ownership: When you identify a problem, you stay engaged through investigation and resolution.
Candidates do not need to know every security technology used within our environment on their first day. We value strong fundamentals, hands-on aptitude, intellectual curiosity, and the capacity to learn.
Education and Experience
A combination of education and practical experience will be considered.
Preferred backgrounds include:
Associate's degree in a technical discipline with relevant experience
Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
Professional IT experience combined with demonstrated cybersecurity knowledge
Military, technical training, apprenticeship, internship, certification, or other equivalent hands-on experience
A four-year degree is not required for candidates who can demonstrate the necessary technical foundation and ability to succeed in the position.
Work Environment
This is an onsite position, five days per week.
Candidates should be comfortable supporting a technology environment where security and system availability are critical.
Participation in compensated on-call support may be required.
Occasional work outside normal business hours may be required when responding to security incidents, maintenance activities, or critical security events.
Why Join Us?
This position provides an opportunity to develop beyond a highly specialized or siloed security role.
You'll gain exposure to multiple areas of cybersecurity and enterprise IT while working closely with experienced technology professionals. For someone who is early in their security career, this is an opportunity to develop practical experience across security operations, infrastructure security, incident response, networking, compliance, risk management, and security engineering.
We're looking for someone who wants to grow into a strong security engineer, not someone who already knows everything.
Pay Details: $100,000.00 to $130,000.00 per year
