Contracts Administrator – In‑House Legal

Overview

A growing in‑house legal department is seeking a Contracts Administrator to own and manage the end‑to‑end lifecycle of contracts supporting business operations. This role plays a critical part in ensuring contracts move efficiently from intake through execution and renewal, with clear tracking, proactive follow‑up, and strong process discipline.

This is not a clerical role. The Contracts Administrator will serve as the operational hub of contract activity, partnering closely with attorneys and internal stakeholders in a high‑volume, fast‑paced environment.

This position requires at least two days per week onsite in Orange, CA.


Key Responsibilities

  • Own the contract intake, tracking, and workflow process from submission through execution and close‑out

  • Maintain accuracy, completeness, and organization within the contract repository and management system

  • Monitor deadlines, renewals, expirations, and outstanding responses

  • Proactively follow up with internal stakeholders and external vendors to keep contracts moving

  • Review submissions for completeness and escalate issues appropriately

  • Assist with contract version control, comparisons, and document coordination

  • Support legal leadership by identifying risks, missing documentation, and potential bottlenecks

  • Help guide internal users on proper contract submission and process expectations


What They’re Looking For

  • Experience in contracts administration, legal operations, compliance, or in‑house legal support

  • Strong understanding of contract workflows and lifecycle management

  • Comfort working in a contract management or legal tracking system (CLM experience preferred)

  • Highly organized, proactive, and accountable working style

  • Ability to exercise good judgment—knowing what to handle independently vs. when to escalate

  • Confident communicator who is comfortable following up and pushing back when needed

  • Ability to succeed in a high‑volume, fast‑moving legal environment

  • Willingness to work onsite at least two days per week


Compensation

  • Competitive hourly salary range disclosed in accordance with California pay‑transparency requirements $90K - $100K
